TELEVISION AND RADIO:

Creator, "Professor Carl Nivale©" Mardi Gras expert and mascot, WWL-TV 4, New Orleans, 1995.
Appears each Carnival season (January 6th to Mardi Gras) to deliver historical facts, current information, and helpful tips the viewers throughout the Gulf South.  Reaches worldwide audiences with website:
carlnivale.theatricana.com since 2001.

16 years experience as a DJ and on-air personality on radio stations throughout Kentucky, Mississippi, Louisiana, and various stations throughout the South, with backgrounds in country, classic rock, classical, and alternative formats.

Author and on-air talent for two hour-long radio shows, run in extensive rotation from 1990 to 1997 throughout Mississippi, as well as copy writer for dozens of radio spots.

7 years as traffic reporter "Paul Christopher" for Metroscan Traffic Reports, New Orleans.  Reported for more than 15 stations, most prominently as reporter and on-air personality for WSMB and for KKND's "The Rod Ryan Show", the highest-rated alternative morning show in New Orleans market in 2000 and 2001.

On-camera talent and voice-over artist for over 50 different clients, including Colortyme, Louisiana Lottery, Reserve Long Distance, Ochsner Hospital, Blockbuster VideoCox Communications, Sam's Town Casinos, among others.

20 years as on-air and on-camera spokesperson for hundreds of theatrical and musical events throughout Kentucky, Indiana, Mississippi, and the greater New Orleans area.

PUBLICITY & PUBLIC RELATIONS:

for theatrical and musical events throughout the greater New Orleans area, including Jazzfest, French Quarter Fest, Young Audiences of New Orleans, Porta-Puppet Players, Imagine Theatre for Children, Le Petit Theatre du Vieux Carre,  Treehouse Players of New Orleans, Shoestring Players, The Fred Palmisano Scholarship at the University of New Orleans, and a host of  amateur productions in and around the greater New Orleans.  Duties include booking public appearances and performances on media outlets, interviews, creation and execution of all related press and publicity packets (including specialty materials specifically aimed at alternative outlets), organizing and overseeing publicity photographs, specialized promotions and materials, and follow-up press releases.

1995-1997  Publicist & Public Relations Rep., Le Petit Theatre du Vieux Carre Theatre, New Orleans
One of the oldest continuously-operating community theatres in North America.  Created separate comprehensive media databases for the ainstage and the children's theatre by incorporating quarterly ratings for media in and outside the metropolitan area, and built an alternative publicity substructure utilizing previously untapped tourism, educational, neighborhood, and cross-promotional resources (the most comprehensive system in the theatre's 90-year history, and the standard for many theatres in the city today).  Set the precedent for serial theatrical press kits; individual packets fitting the specific demographics of all local and regional media outlets for maximum coverage. Designed and produced the theatre's first promotional website.
Also responsible for  promotional giveaways, directing television and radio performances, and media relations.
Left position when new administration took over the theatre.

2002-2004  Asst. Editor, Featured Writer, Layout Artist, Vive la Vie! Magazine, New Orleans
Monthly lifestyle magazine focused on entertainment and living in Louisiana.  Responsible for writing film reviews and featured articles,  creating original graphics and copy for print ads for a variety of clients, coordinating and checking all articles and materials for the issues, creating the final layout in Quark for printing.
Left when magazine went on hiatus for a year for retooling.

WEBSITES:

Created original websites for over 20 different clients, and currently maintain sites for such clients as Broadway  star Alison Fraser, Porta-Puppet Players of New Orleans, Katie's Restaurant in New Orleans, and many more.
Duties include creating custom-made sites from scratch, including graphics and interfaces and content (where necessary) under the banner of Theatricana.com.  Specializing in sites for entertainment companies.
