Vatican
Lokey is a proud New Orleans actor and advocate for the New Orleans
Theatre Community. For the last 18 years, he has been creating an
impressive body of work in New Orleans in the realms of theatre, radio
& television, the convention entertainment industry, and now moving
into film.
Before arriving in the New Orleans area, Vatican was a respected figure
in the regional theatre circuit, touring throughout the Southern states
and the Eastern seaboard. In 1994, his original family musical Treehouse Players' RAPUNZEL was
commissioned by
President Clinton to be the flagship production of the Americorps
theatrical tour, with Vatican serving as a lead actor and
playwright. For the last 15 years, he has also been a member of
Porta-Puppet Players, New Orleans' premiere touring puppet theatre
troupe. |
Vatican
opens in the New Orleans premiere of Opus by Michael Hollinger September 19th at
Southern Repertory Theatre. He plays Dorian, a gifted musician
with some mental chemistry issues, part of a quartet that includes his
lover Elliot, played by Bob Edes.

Vatican recently made his debut at Summer
Lyric Theatre as Paul in the hit Stephen Sondheim-George Furth classic Company opposite Trina Beck as
Amy. The production starred New Orleans-Broadway talents Kasey
Marino and Leslie Castay. Directed by B. Michael Howard, musical
direction by C. Leonard Raybon.
Vatican
is prominently featured in two new books about New Orleans
theatre history.
